Outreach in Our Local Community

We hold events at various locations throughout the year. Most of these events are open to the public, although those held at worksites are usually open only to staff of that employer.  See the “Audience” section of each entry to learn who is eligible to attend and then stop by to find out more about University Center or to speak with one of our staff members.

College of Lake County Table Visit

Location: Student Street, 19351 W. Washington, Grayslake
Date: Tuesday, April 25, 2017 — Time: 10 am - 1 pm
Audience: CLC students & general public; free admission

Meet Nora Mena and learn how easy it is for CLC students to transfer into one of the bachelor’s completion programs offered through the University Center.

Festival de Familias en Educacion

Location: University Center of Lake County
Date: Saturday, April 29, 2017 — Time: 9 am to 12:30 pm
Audience: Latino families with high school students who could be the first in their family to attend college.
RSVP: Para registrarse/Register here.

High school students and their families can learn about the importance of college and how to access financial aid.  The event will be conducted in Spanish.  Space is limited, so registration is required.

Illinois Regional College Fair

Location: Physical Education Center, Building 7, CLC Grayslake
Date: Thursday, October 19, 2017 — Time: 6 - 8 pm
Audience: High School students and their parents; current CLC students; free and open to the public

Look for Nora Mena at a University Center table within the College of Lake County section of this large event and learn how UC and CLC work together to allow students to remain in Lake County to complete bachelor and graduate degrees.

College of Lake County Open House
